What to expect...
  Because of its location at the very western end of Cuba, few tourists travel to Maria La Gorda, though a visit is extremely worthwhile, especially for diving enthusiasts. Here you will encounter a fantastic underwater paradise with brightly colored fish and coral. The sandy white beaches expand for several kilometers and the Guanahacabibes Peninsula Reserve assists to repopulate endangered sea turtles.

Itinerary

As Maria La Gorda is one of the most western points in Cuba, we recommend visiting from Vinales, which would only take about 3.5 hours, or another nearby destination. You should be able to easily find your accommodation as it is located just on the sandy beach. Unterkunft im Hotel Maria La Gorda
Maria La Gorda is one of the best diving places in all of Cuba and that's saying something. You can book diving and snorkelling trips or a hike in the reserve on site. In the hotel you can also rent bicycles and explore the region by bike. Or, just grab a book and spend the day completely relaxed on the beach. Today is your last day in Maria La Gorda. Depending on where you wish you to from here, you may want to have an early start, especially if you are wanting to reach central Cuba.
