After your first Costa Rican breakfast, you will meet your guide at 08:00, who will explain all the details of your tour in Costa Rica. Until 31.10.2019 In the morning and afternoon you will have time to explore La Fortuna de San Carlos on your own. The city is one of the main tourist destinations in Costa Rica and Central America. In addition to its major attraction such as the volcano, La Fortuna is a place that offers visitors a wide range of services and a variety of attractions. It is a great place to try rafting, horse riding or abseiling. People interested in a more peaceful experience are encouraged to take a canopy tour in the hanging bridges, visit the Caño Negro Wildlife Reserve, the Venado Caves or the thermal springs. Do not miss the stunning National Park Arenal Volcano! Your tour leader will help you to book your optional activities. From 01.11.2019 In the evening around 5 pm you will go on your bikes to get to a sanctuary of frogs, there you will have a guided night tour and learn about costa rican night time animals. Mountain biking is a great way to travel from La Fortuna to Monteverde. A boat will take you across Lake Arenal to the community Viejo Arenal. The moderately difficult ride is about 16 kilometers and will take you along the lake to Tronadora in approximately 2-hours.From there your driver will drive up the steep, gravel roads to your hotel in Monteverde. Here you can explore Costa Rica’s diverse natural environment with chances to see wildlife such as monkeys, birds, coatimundis, and sometimes even sloths and toucans! Today we will bike through the hills of Monteverde to the so-called "Children Eternal Forest". Your bike tour starts in the district San Bosco and will continue through the hummingbird garden until you get to the forest, where you can observe animals in their natural habitat. On the way you can stop for an icecream or cheese  in the famous Monteverde cheese factory. After this, you will have the rest of the day to participate in a lot of optional activities (not included). For nature lovers Monteverde offers a wide range of activities such as visiting the Santa Elena or Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, the Serpentarium, the Butterfly Gardens or crossing the cloud forest on suspension bridges. Today's bike ride takes you along the costa rican Pacific coast.  This will be the hardest, but most rewarding ride of the tour. Enjoy some breath-taking views of the ocean. You will go by bike until you reach Camaronal Wildlife Refuge, where you will take a break. This wildlife refuge is important for the preservation of the turtles in the area. Today we will rise bright and early and then we will cycle to the Wildlife Reserve of Playa Ostional. If you choose the right time for your trip to Costa Rica, you might be able to observe turtles at the beach. Samara's laidback vibe gives travelers the perfect setting for an afternoon of rest and relaxation. Spend some time shopping or trying new foods in the village. There are some great discos for those who are anxious to sample the nightlife! A short one-mile (2 km) walk down the beach brings visitors to the Tico hamlet of Matapalo, a great snorkeling spot. Spend some more time relaxing on the pristine beaches of Samara before heading to charming colonial city of Cartago by bus. The city is located near San José and the Irazú volcano. In Cartago you will find the most important church of Costa Rica: Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles. In the morning you will travel by bus up to the mountains of Tierra Blanca de Cartago, one of the coldest places in the country and home of the farmers who produce potatoes and onions for the rest of the country. Admire beautiful landscapes on the way to the Irazu volcano National Park. In good weather conditions you will possibly see the overwhelming crater. In the afternoon you will travel by bus to Pacayas. From there you take your bikes and continue through Cervantes and Santiago villages all the way to the Ujarrás Ruins. You can have a look at the remains of the first stonewalled church of Costa Rica. Before heading back by bus you continue riding to Cachi dam, an important hydroelectric project for the country. Today you continue the tour to enchanting Turrialba. From Cartago to Pacayas Village you will be taken by bus and then go on by bike to the Guayabo National Monument. The monument, situated at the slope of the Turrialba volcano, is considered to be the biggest archeological site of the country. You will see fascinating sculptural works and rock engravings, aqueducts and cisterns from over 1000 years ago! The bus will take you back to the hotel. Enjoy the idyllic countrysides with numerous rivers while cycling to Tucurrique. Try one of the diverse delicious dishes or the local speciality Pejibaye, which means peach palm. Today you will continue to the last city of your roundtrip, San Jose, Costa Ricas capital.
