What to expect...
  Due to Camagüey's location, it's typically used as a stop on the way to Eastern Cuba, though we highly recommend lingering a little while longer. It's about 5 hours from Trinidad and less than 3 to Holguin. Stop and see some sights here in Camagüey, whose old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its church, the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Merced, is one of the finest in the country. Come experience these treasures in a quiet and tranquil region,said to house more cattle than people. A trip to nearby Rancho King tourist Farm is definitely worthwhile. Finding your way on the streets of Camaguey city used to be a bit of a challenge, but don't worry: to help travelers, they've installed road signs to get you on your way.

Itinerary

Today you'll be arriving in Camagüey, the birthplace of Nicolás Guillén, a revered Cuban poet commited to social justice. After settling into your accommodation, get out and start exploring the city. Today you also have the day at your disposal. Of course you still have the opportunity to walk through the Old Town, though if you've already explored that on your first day, you can also go to the nearby ranch. If walking through the city by foot, you may notice some jars at people's doorsteps. These were formerly used to collect water and are still one of the peculiarities of the city. Today is your last day in Camagüey. Feel free to book an extension here or set off to other regions of the country. If you're wanting to go to Santiago de Cuba, you're trip will also take you past the Sierra Maestra mountains, which is also a great mini trip.
